Ukraine and NATO have identified key areas of cooperation, including analysis, education, and training.
The practical combat experience of Ukraine’s Defense Forces is a unique opportunity for NATO countries to launch new joint projects or strengthen existing ones, particularly within the framework of activities at the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC).
This was emphasized by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysiuk, during a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council, the highest body of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and with the participation of NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier, focused on the conditions for implementing projects, particularly within JATEC’s activities.
Moysiuk outlined priority JATEC projects for 2026:
- education and training (scaling existing L-courses and strengthening the non-commissioned officer corps),
- innovation and operational experimentation,
- strengthening analytical capabilities (including AI-based forecasting of adversary actions, electronic warfare projects, and improving navigation systems),
- interoperability as a cross-cutting priority.

He noted that JATEC is a mechanism aimed at improving the full cycle of a service member’s development — from education and training to decision-making based on advanced analytics, modern situational awareness tools, and new technologies.
All activities under the JATEC work program are expected to translate into greater interoperability between Ukraine and NATO, including joint procedures, the use of shared equipment, and compatible communication systems.

Moysiuk also thanked NATO for its comprehensive and unified support to Ukraine. The Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) is located in Poland and is intended to enhance interoperability, support transformation processes in defense initiatives, and strengthen deterrence, contributing to deeper integration between Ukraine and NATO.
