The density of drone use on the front line has significantly increased, and in the area of responsibility of the 1st “Azov” Corps of the National Guard in the Donetsk region, up to two thousand unmanned aerial vehicles can be detected in the air simultaneously.

This was reported in a televised interview by National Guard spokesperson Ruslan Muzychuk.

“We see that the density of drone usage is increasing. If we compare quarterly data, we can talk about a significant rise in the use of drones by both sides. In less than two years, National Guard units tasked with detecting and destroying various types of drones, including Zala, Supercam, Molniya and others, have already destroyed more than 22,000,” the spokesperson said.

According to him, Russian forces continue to scale up the use of different types of unmanned systems, including fiber-optic drones and so-called “lying-in-wait drones.” At the same time, Ukrainian forces are actively countering these systems.

“In the area of responsibility of our 1st ‘Azov’ Corps, which is essentially Donetsk region, up to two thousand drones can be detected in the air at the same time. This refers only to drones operating on radio frequencies, as there are also fiber-optic drones and so-called ‘waiting drones.’ The enemy is trying to scale up and increase their numbers, but we are carrying out active countermeasures. In addition, due to the disruption of Starlink on the enemy side, their use of ‘Molniya’ drones has not been able to penetrate deeply into our defense,” Muzychuk said.
