Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys signed a Joint Declaration on Partnership in the Protection, Return, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration of Ukrainian Children during a meeting, and also discussed cooperation in the fields of defense and security, according to a statement published on the Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel on Monday.
“I was pleased to meet with Kęstutis Budrys to reaffirm the strength of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian partnership,” Sybiha emphasized.
During the meeting, the ministers paid special attention to supporting Ukrainian children affected by Russia’s war.
“I am grateful to Lithuania for its commitment to allocate €10 million for measures related to the protection, return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of Ukrainian children, as provided for in the Joint Declaration we signed today,” the head of Ukraine’s foreign ministry said.
In the context of recent drone-related incidents, Sybiha also confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to send an expert group to Lithuania to share experience and assist in protecting the skies.
During the talks, the ministers discussed urgent EU-related issues and agreed that all negotiating clusters on Ukraine’s path toward EU membership should be opened as soon as possible.
