During another large-scale attack on the night of July 2, the overall interception rate of strike drones reached about 90%, and almost all cruise missiles were destroyed. At the same time, ballistic missiles remain the main problem.
This was reported on Ukrainian Radio by Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The overall interception rate of enemy strike drones is about 90%. Almost all cruise missiles were shot down. Information regarding two missiles is currently being clarified, but there is still no data confirming their impact. All components of the Defense Forces that worked against aerial targets did everything possible. The only issue is that ballistic missiles remain a weakness that needs to be strengthened,” Ihnat said.
According to him, during the massive attack on the night of July 2, 28 out of 70 ballistic missiles were intercepted.
“These include ‘Iskander-M’ missiles, S-400 surface-to-air missiles used for ground strikes, as well as ‘Zircon’ missiles. Almost all of these weapons were directed at the capital. Other regions were also hit, but the main strike potential of the enemy was aimed specifically at Kyiv,” Ihnat added.
