On the night of 21 September (from 18:00 on 20 September), Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 172 strike UAVs, including Shahed drones (64 of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones, Parodiya decoy drones, as well as Banderol/Dan-T drones launched from the directions of Belgorod, Shatalovo, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Millerovo in Russia, as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defences had shot down or suppressed 147 Russian Shahed, Gerbera and other types of UAVs, as well as one Banderol/Dan-T drone.
Russian aerial weapons struck 14 locations, while downed drones or their debris fell at four locations.
