Ukrainian drones attacked the settlement of Afipsky in Russia's Krasnodar region overnight on 6 November, according to the regional operational headquarters.

According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, the target was the Afipsky oil refinery. Following the aerial attack, thick smoke rose above the facility and, according to local residents, reached the outskirts of Krasnodar.

The Afipsky refinery is one of the largest in southern Russia. It belongs to the Safmar Group, owned by billionaire Mikhail Gutseriev.

The facility has an annual processing capacity of approximately 7.2 million tonnes of crude oil and produces petrol, diesel and other petroleum products. It is primarily export-oriented and does not supply products to the domestic market.

This marks the seventh drone attack on the refinery. Previous strikes were recorded on 21 January, 14 March, 11 June, 14 July, 25 August and 26 September.

In late October, the Armed Forces of Ukraine resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries following a two-week pause reportedly prompted by US President Donald Trump's demand to halt the attacks.

On 30 October, Rosneft's Novokuibyshevsk refinery was targeted, followed by Bashneft's refinery in Ufa on 31 October.

On 1 November, the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI) refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region came under attack, while Rosneft's Ryazan refinery was struck on 5 November.

On 2 November, Ukrainian forces also targeted the Samara oil pumping and distribution station in the Samara region, one of Transneft's largest oil transportation and distribution hubs.

The resulting fire at the facility reportedly continued for several days, with emergency services struggling to extinguish it.
