Ivano-Frankivsk and the Canadian city of New Westminster have signed a twinning agreement.
Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv announced this on Facebook.
“Another sister city for Ivano-Frankivsk! We have signed a cooperation agreement with New Westminster. It is now Frankivsk’s 28th sister city and its first in Canada,” the post reads.
According to Martsinkiv, it is particularly significant that the partnership is being established at a time of strong support for Ukraine from Canada and the Canadian people.
“We thank New Westminster for its solidarity and support! Ahead are joint projects, new opportunities and even stronger ties between Ukraine and Canada,” he added.
