Ukraine is ready to become an integral part of Europe’s security architecture. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko at the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Croatia.

“This format must receive a new role in Europe’s security architecture, which has changed significantly over this decade. Ukraine is ready to be an integral part of it as a country that is already making a significant contribution to the security, resilience, and development of the entire region,” she emphasized during her speech.

Svyrydenko stressed that security and defense come first. Ukrainians are currently setting new rules for modern warfare. The effective use of Ukrainian maritime drones, together with partner support, has enabled safe maritime navigation and the functioning of the Ukrainian grain corridor, which is important for global food security.

“The energy dimension is a key area for both security and economic stability. Together with partners, we are working on diversifying energy and gas supply routes, in particular on the development of the Vertical Gas Corridor. This is a matter of security and political independence for the whole of Europe,” she said.

Within the Three Seas Initiative, Ukraine proposed concrete goals: extending the Via Carpathia route from Rzeszów through Lviv to Kyiv, extending Rail2Sea to the port of Odessa, and creating special facilities for reverse gas flow into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities from interconnectors with neighboring countries.

“There should be a separate window for Ukrainian projects in the Three Seas Investment Fund. We expect the first financing package to be opened during the upcoming Polish presidency. This will allow faster implementation of practical solutions in infrastructure, logistics, and energy,” Svyrydenko stressed.

The Prime Minister thanked regional countries for their support since the start of the full-scale invasion, particularly for helping restore logistics routes and strengthen energy security.
