A Wildberries logistics center is on fire in the Russian city of Volgograd following a Ukrainian strike, while the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery was also attacked.
This was reported by the ASTRA Telegram channel. On the night of July 31, residents of Volgograd and the surrounding region reported explosions and fires.
The regional governor said that the attack caused fires in the southern part of the city at fuel and energy facilities, as well as at warehouses in the Dzerzhinsky district.
Footage shared by eyewitnesses indicates that one of the facilities in Volgograd that caught fire following the attack was a Wildberries logistics center.
According to preliminary reports, drones also attacked the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery. Local residents reported the attack, and since the refinery is located in southern Volgograd, the reports are consistent with the governor’s statement about fires in the southern part of the city.
According to the BBC, Wildberries confirmed a fire at its logistics center in Volgograd following the UAV attack. The BBC estimates that this was already the 11th attack on Wildberries logistics terminals since July 18. One of the arguments cited for strikes on logistics centers is that military goods can be purchased through the marketplace.
In addition, according to ASTRA’s OSINT analysis, a Wildberries logistics center in Zelenodolsk, Republic of Tatarstan, was also attacked. Residents of Kazan and its suburbs reported explosions, while available footage shows smoke rising above the buildings of the Wildberries logistics complex following the attack.
