The Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF) and Brave1 cluster, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Social Policy, have launched a new grant programme called “Innovative Prosthetics”.
"The initiative aims to stimulate the development of Ukrainian prosthetic technologies capable of replacing imported alternatives and entering international markets. The programme is designed to support Ukrainian teams at every stage, from validating an idea to developing a functional prototype, testing, certification and subsequent scaling," USF reported.
The grant programme focuses on three key categories:
- Limb prosthetics solutions: bionic, electronic and mechanical systems for upper and lower limbs designed to improve comfort and functionality.
- Innovative components: Ukrainian-made electronics, actuators, battery systems and mechanical components aimed at reducing dependence on foreign imports.
- Personalisation and customisation: 3D printing technologies and other solutions for adapting prostheses to the individual needs of patients.
Non-repayable state grants of up to UAH 8 million are available for each project. The amount of funding depends on the technology readiness level (TRL):
- up to UAH 2 million for testing an idea;
- up to UAH 4 million for developing a laboratory prototype;
- up to UAH 8 million for creating a functional prototype or finished product.
Developers can apply for the grant programme through the official portal of the Ukrainian Startup Fund.
