A delegation from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MCF), with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, paid a working visit to Ukraine to study the unique experience of the State Emergency Service and discuss further technical assistance.
The State Emergency Service reported this on Facebook.
The Swedish partners familiarized themselves with the work of the Odessa garrison units of the State Emergency Service under constant challenges — from responding to the aftermath of shelling to protecting critical infrastructure facilities. Special attention was given to the use of watercraft previously provided by Sweden to Ukraine. These boats are already actively involved in demining operations and water rescue missions.

As noted by Head of the State Emergency Service Andrii Danyk, modern vessels for underwater demining, generators, and firefighting equipment supplied by Sweden are critically important resources in wartime conditions.
“Sweden proves its status as a strategic partner not with words, but with actions. For our part, we are ready to share all the experience we have gained during the war,” Danyk noted.

In the capital, members of the delegation inspected residential buildings and infrastructure facilities damaged by Russian attacks, and visited assistance centers for civilians. During an official meeting with the Service’s leadership, the sides outlined priorities for 2026, focusing in particular on the procurement of specialized equipment to respond to humanitarian challenges.

For his part, MCF Director General Mikael Frisell expressed admiration for the professionalism of Ukrainian rescuers.
“You are a highly professional service, and your experience is invaluable. Our review of units in Odessa and Kyiv once again confirmed that the State Emergency Service operates at the highest level. We will continue learning from you and will stand by your side for as long as necessary,” Frisell said.
