Two people were killed and eight others injured in a massive Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv overnight on Thursday, with damage reported in three districts of the capital, according to Ukraine’s National Police.
“On the night of 24 September, Russian forces once again attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones. Two residents of the capital were killed in the Russian strike: a 57-year-old woman in the Podilskyi district and a 65-year-old man in the Solomianskyi district,” the National Police said on Telegram.
Eight other people aged between 25 and 77 were injured. A police officer was among those injured.
Damage was reported in the Podilskyi, Solomianskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.
The attack also damaged a maternity hospital, nine private houses, a post office, warehouses and dozens of vehicles.
Investigative teams, explosives specialists and other emergency services are working at the sites of the strikes and falling debris.
