More than 400 organic production operators certified under international standards are currently operating in Ukraine, while more than 300 operators are included in the national register and two national certification bodies are active, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi said at the Organic Day in Ukraine 2026 conference.
“Despite the full-scale war, we have more than 400 operators with international certification, more than 300–310 operators in our national register, two nationally certified bodies, and we remain among the top five suppliers of organic products to the European Union,” he said.
Vysotskyi also outlined support programmes for frontline areas that will also be available to organic producers.
“At present, there is simply no capacity to allocate additional support specifically for organic producers. For now, there is only the possibility of providing certain support to frontline areas, and organic producers will be covered by these programmes at various stages,” the minister said.
According to Vysotskyi, organic businesses will be able to benefit from a programme supporting the relocation of enterprises from temporarily occupied territories to Ukrainian-controlled territory. They will also be eligible for planned compensation for the cost of infrastructure facilities and for crops lost as a result of hostilities or the inability to harvest them.
In addition, the state war-risk insurance programme has been expanded to cover agricultural machinery. Compensation of up to UAH 30 million will be available if machinery is lost or destroyed.
Vysotskyi also said that from 18 October, the criteria for small producers to qualify as critical enterprises for employee mobilisation exemptions will be eased. The minimum land area requirement will be reduced from 1,000 to 200 hectares, while the annual revenue threshold will be lowered from UAH 40 million to UAH 20 million.
