Ukrainian Design & Innovation Week (UDIW) announces the launch of its fifth season (September 29 – October 5, 2025), dedicated to liminality — a space of transition where design becomes a tool for conscious and responsible transformation. For seven days, Kyiv will once again turn into a meeting place for professionals and enthusiasts of architecture, product and graphic design, urbanism and — for the first time in UDIW’s history — gastronomy.

The main event of the week will traditionally be the DESIGN HALL at Mystetskyi Arsenal. More than 130 Ukrainian furniture, lighting, décor, and interior element brands will present current collections, showcasing the industry’s progress and the strength of local production. The event will also feature a large open lecture hall with leading designers, architects, and invited speakers.

The season’s novelty is the FOOD DESIGN HALL. For the first time, visitors will be able to explore the intersection of gastronomy and design through a curated food court and bars, while children will have access to a special zone offering various workshops — from drawing and sculpting to decorating gingerbread and flower arranging.

This time UDIW introduces a curatorial institute. The programme’s general curator is Sonya Zabuga, editor-in-chief of ELLE Decoration; curators for individual areas will be announced soon. This season also marks the start of a strategic partnership with the development company PGD.

Beyond the Arsenal walls, the week will be filled with presentations, workshops, tastings, and master classes at various city venues. A separate block of events will focus on preserving cultural heritage, developing Kyiv’s cycling infrastructure, and improving the accessibility of urban spaces. A meeting with a women’s cycling club is planned, along with open registration for a cycling marathon encouraging residents to actively discuss the future cycling concept of the capital.

The full programme with addresses and schedules will be available soon on UDIW’s website. Admission to Mystetskyi Arsenal will be ticketed.
