The 10th anniversary Three Seas (Trimarium) Summit will be held in Warsaw on April 28–29, with high-level delegations from over 20 countries expected to attend.

According to the Polish presidential office, the presidents of 12 countries are expected to arrive in Warsaw.

“There is no doubt that the Three Seas Initiative has become the most important platform for regional cooperation in our part of Europe and, I believe, in the European Union. We are the driving force of the European economy  and a very attractive destination for investment in these challenging times,” the office quoted the founder of the initiative, Polish President Andrzej Duda.

He emphasized that today the initiative consists of 13 member countries, four strategic partners, and two associate members.

According to Duda, the Three Seas region is now home to 120 million people and shows a high dynamic of economic growth, with a GDP growth forecast of 35% by 2030.

“Today, the Three Seas Region is one of the fastest growing regions in the world, with a projected GDP growth of 35% by 2030. This cooperation is creating strategic transport routes such as Via Baltica, Rail Baltica or Via Carpatia – corridors linking Central Europe with the rest of the continent and a gateway for investment from the Middle East and Africa,” Duda stressed.

The Three Seas Summit will be accompanied by the ITM Business Forum, which will also discuss cooperation with Ukraine.

Previously, Duda had invited U.S. President Donald Trump to the summit. It is known that the United States will be represented at the summit by U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright. On the eve of the summit, Duda met with Wright in Warsaw and discussed cooperation prospects, including in the field of nuclear energy. It is expected that on Tuesday, in Warsaw, with the participation of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and U.S. Secretary of Energy Wright, an agreement will be signed between the state company "Polish Nuclear Power Plants" and the Westinghouse-Bechtel consortium on joint plans for building a nuclear power plant in Poland.

Last week, Duda criticized Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for not mentioning Poland’s participation in the Three Seas Initiative during his speech on Poland's foreign policy goals for 2025. In turn, Sikorski pointed out that the organizer of the summit is the office of the President of Poland, which did not consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the program, objectives, or list of summit participants. The head of Polish diplomacy also noted that the successes of the Three Seas Initiative over the 10 years of its existence have been rather modest.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently announced that he would soon meet with, among others, Polish President Andrzej Duda and Czech President Petr Pavel.

The Three Seas Initiative is also known as the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Sea Initiative, or simply the Three Seas — an international economic and infrastructure initiative that unites 12 European Union countries located near the Baltic, Black, and Adriatic Seas (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Greece). Ukraine and Moldova are associate members of the Three Seas Initiative. The strategic partners of the initiative are the United States, Japan, Germany, and the European Commission. The initiative aims to foster regional dialogue on various issues.

Previous Three Seas Summits were held in Dubrovnik, Warsaw, Bucharest, Ljubljana, Tallinn, Sofia, Riga, Bucharest, and Vilnius.

In June 2022, Ukraine received the status of a participating partner of the Three Seas Initiative, effectively becoming a participant in the initiative.
