Russia launches 255 drones at Ukraine in overnight attack

On the night of July 31 (starting from 6:00 p.m. on July 30), the Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 255 Shahed-type attack UAVs (including jet-powered drones), Gerbera and Italmas drones, as well as Parodiya-type decoy drones, launched from the following directions: Oryol and Kursk in Russia; the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk; and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 195 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of UAVs in the north, south and east of the country.

Twenty-two attack UAVs struck 14 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at four locations.
