The European Union will allocate €1.4 billion to Ukraine using proceeds generated from frozen Russian assets, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced.

"The funds will be used to strengthen our defense and reinforce the resilience of our state. The response to Russian terror must be a stronger Ukraine. Russia must pay for every new crime it commits," Koretskyi said.

The prime minister thanked Ukraine's European partners for their principled support.

"Your support gives us strength," he said.
