From Kharkiv to Kherson: Russian attacks expand across Ukrainian regions

Russian attacks across several regions of Ukraine over the past day left multiple people killed and injured, while damaging homes, infrastructure, and civilian facilities, according to Ukrainian officials.

In the Kharkiv region, two people were injured as a result of Russian strikes, including a nine-year-old girl, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said. In the regional center, a 38-year-old man and the child suffered acute stress reactions after a drone strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district. Russian forces used guided aerial bombs, multiple launch rocket systems, and drones in the attacks. Civilian infrastructure was damaged across several settlements, including private houses, a school, vehicles, power lines, and railway infrastructure.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and five injured in a Russian strike on Kharkiv on the morning of March 11, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The attack targeted a civilian enterprise and also included a Shahed drone strike on a residential area in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Heavy shelling was also reported in the Sumy region, where Russian forces carried out nearly 70 strikes on 32 settlements over the past day. Two people were killed and three injured, the regional military administration said. In the Hlukhiv community, a 27-year-old man died after a guided aerial bomb strike, while a 63-year-old man later died in hospital from his injuries. Three other men aged 42, 47, and 59 were wounded.

Russian forces used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided bombs during the attacks. Civilian infrastructure, vehicles, and non-residential buildings were damaged in the Hlukhiv community, while private homes and outbuildings were destroyed in the Shalyhyne community. Damage to residential buildings and infrastructure was also reported in the Shostka, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Sumy, Lebedyn, Bilopillia, and Vorozhba communities. Six residents were evacuated from border communities during the day.

In the Chernihiv region, Russian drones struck the city of Nizhyn and the Novhorod-Siverskyi district overnight on March 11, according to the State Emergency Service. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, a residential house caught fire after the fall of a drone, though firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. In Nizhyn, a civilian infrastructure building was damaged. No casualties were reported.

 

 

In the Donetsk region, Russian forces killed four civilians in Sloviansk on March 10, regional governor Vadym Filashkin said. Another 21 people were injured across the region during the same period. The total number of civilian casualties in the region since the start of the full-scale invasion stands at 4,081 killed and 9,018 injured, excluding figures from Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Russian troops also attacked the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones and artillery. According to regional authorities, a gas station and an agricultural enterprise were damaged, though no casualties were reported.

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and 12 others were injured, including a child, as Russian forces carried out drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling across dozens of settlements. Regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said the strikes damaged four apartment buildings, 13 private houses, a shop, outbuildings, and private vehicles.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 706 attacks on 37 settlements over the past day, according to regional authorities. A 67-year-old man was injured in the Zaporizhzhia district. The attacks included 17 airstrikes, more than 400 drone strikes—mostly FPV drones—and hundreds of artillery attacks. Officials recorded at least 40 reports of damage to homes, infrastructure, and vehicles.
