Russian attacks over the past 24 hours killed at least four civilians and injured more than 50 others across eastern, southern and northeastern Ukraine.
The heaviest casualties were reported in the Donetsk region, where three people were killed in Druzhkivka, regional governor Vadym Filashkin said. Another 31 people were injured, including 27 in Kramatorsk and four in the village of Bilenke, part of the Kramatorsk community.
Filashkin noted that the overall toll of Russia's war in the Donetsk region has now reached 4,253 civilians killed and 10,061 injured, excluding casualties in the occupied cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and 18 others wounded as Russian forces carried out air strikes, drone attacks and artillery shelling across dozens of settlements, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said.
Residential areas bore the brunt of the attacks, with nine apartment buildings, 12 private homes, a filling station, farm equipment and civilian vehicles damaged. Eight people were evacuated from frontline communities during the day.
In the Sumy region, Russian forces launched nearly 70 attacks on 24 settlements in 14 communities between the morning of August 4 and the morning of August 5, the regional military administration reported.
A 64-year-old man was injured in a drone strike in the Yampil community, while another drone attack wounded a 37-year-old man after hitting a car in the Buryn community. Medical treatment was also provided to seven civilians injured during previous attacks, including four children aged two, three, nine and 17 who were hurt in guided bomb strikes on the Sumy community overnight on August 4.
The administration said Russian forces used mortars, artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and guided aerial bombs. Homes, civilian infrastructure and vehicles were damaged in several communities.
No casualties were reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region despite nearly 20 Russian attacks involving drones, artillery and guided bombs overnight. Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the strikes targeted Nikopol district, the Synelnykove district and infrastructure in the city of Verkhivtseve. A fire station was damaged and several fires broke out.
Meanwhile, Russian forces carried out 1,052 strikes on 50 settlements across the Zaporizhzhia region during the past 24 hours, according to regional governor Ivan Fedorov.
Two people were injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia city and the surrounding district. The bombardment included 14 air strikes, 757 drone attacks, two multiple-launch rocket strikes and 279 artillery attacks.
Authorities received 76 reports of damage to homes, civilian infrastructure and vehicles across the region.
