The governing board of the Ukraine Investment Framework (the investment component of the EU’s Ukraine Facility programme) has approved a new package of eight programmes for Ukraine’s reconstruction totaling €1.5 billion.
This was reported by Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, Oleksiy Kuleba.
“European partners continue to support Ukraine’s recovery. The governing board of the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) has approved a new package of eight programmes worth €1.5 billion,” Kuleba said.
According to him, €466.5 million of this amount will be directed to projects coordinated by the Ministry of Development.
Breakdown includes:
- €106 million – continuation of funding under the “Paths of Solidarity” project for logistics, repair, and reconstruction of highways;
- €123 million – scaling up the Enerhodim and VidnovyDIM programmes for energy-efficient housing reconstruction;
- €26.5 million – construction and repair of shelters in buildings being restored under EIB municipal programmes;
- €132.5 million – maintenance of railway infrastructure and development of rail connections;
- €68.5 million – the first tranche of the project for modernizing border crossing points on the western border;
- €10 million – additional funding for ongoing projects.
Additionally, the EBRD programme provides €100 million for decentralization projects in heating and energy supply, implemented through direct cooperation with cities and businesses.
“Funding combines EIB loan resources and EU grant support, which helps reduce the financial burden on the budget,” Kuleba emphasized.
