In Copenhagen, seven new streets are planned to be named after Ukrainian cities. In particular, one of the new streets will be named after the city of Mykolaiv, with which the Kingdom of Denmark has strong partnership ties.

The Mykolaiv Development Agency reported this on Facebook.

“In Copenhagen, seven new streets are planned to be named after Ukrainian cities: Ukrainegade, Kyivgade, Mariupolgade, Odesagade, Khersongade, Sevastopolgade, and Mykolajivgade. Among them is Mykolajivgade, a street that will symbolize the resilience, maritime heritage, and indomitability of our city in the modern and dynamic Nordhavn district of Copenhagen,” the statement reads.

It is noted that this is more than a symbolic gesture — it reflects a real partnership between the two countries. Denmark consistently supports Ukraine and Mykolaiv with humanitarian and medical aid, restoration of critical infrastructure, and implementation of educational and cultural projects.

It is worth noting that Mykolaiv already has a Danish Street and a Danish Solidarity Square.
