A science park will be created in Drohobych, featuring laboratories and workspaces. The renowned British architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects will participate in its development.
The creation of the science park was announced by Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, after a meeting with Paulo Matteucci, director of Zaha Hadid Architects, in Rome.
The initiative to establish the science park in Drohobych was launched by Donetsk National Technical University. The plan is to build modern infrastructure with modular, quickly assembled buildings to deploy necessary facilities rapidly.
During the war, there has been an increased outflow of Ukrainian scientists and university educators abroad. Therefore, the main goal of the project is to support scientists among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and engage young students.

“Zaha Hadid Architects will join the creation of the science park to help build a bright and recognizable facility that will attract students, researchers, and guests from various countries. I am grateful to the spatial development agency Voice of Space and the international program Rebuild Green for their assistance in organizing this important meeting,” Maksym Kozytskyi said.
Paulo Matteucci will later visit the Lviv region to learn more about the initiative and develop a further action plan.
