The unmanned aerial system UB82D, based on an FPV drone with an integrated 82-mm mortar shell, has been codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the manufacturer, Ukrainian Armor, on social media.
The UB82D FPV drone is built on a 10-inch frame with an integrated 82-mm mortar shell. The company notes that the system “combines the warhead and the control system into a single unit,” which allows it to be used without additional equipment.
“This is already the second drone with an integrated warhead developed by our company. The first was a drone based on a 60-mm mortar shell, which is successfully used in the military thanks to its speed and ease of use. UB82D is a drone with a larger warhead, but with the same logic of use. Now soldiers will have greater firepower, range, and flight speed,” said Ukrainian Armor CEO Vladyslav Belbas.
The system is designed to engage Russian personnel, unarmored vehicles, and firing positions from the air.
It is noted that the system includes 250 UB82D drones, a ground control station, a remote antenna, a control console, a case with a monitor and a relay unit, as well as a charging device.
