Ukraine’s trade turnover for January 2026 amounted to USD 9.9 billion, of which USD 6.7 billion was imports and USD 3.2 billion was exports.
This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
“During January 2026, Ukraine imported goods worth USD 6.7 billion and exported goods worth USD 3.2 billion. Taxable imports totaled USD 4.4 billion, representing 66% of total imported goods. The tax burden per kilogram of taxable imports in January 2026 was USD 0.50/kg,” the statement said.
The countries from which Ukraine imported the most goods were China (USD 1.9 billion), Turkey (USD 703 million), and Poland (USD 623 million). The largest export destinations from Ukraine were Poland (USD 358 million), Turkey (USD 276 million), and Italy (USD 232 million).
In total imported goods for January 2026, 69% fell into the following categories:
- Machinery, equipment, and transport: USD 2.7 billion (customs duties paid to the budget: UAH 14.8 billion, 24% of total customs revenue)
- Fuel and energy products: USD 1.1 billion (customs duties paid: UAH 26.6 billion, 43% of total customs revenue)
- Chemical industry products: USD 869 million (customs duties paid: UAH 7.1 billion, 11% of total customs revenue)
The top three exported product categories from Ukraine were:
- Food products: USD 2 billion
- Metals and metal products: USD 286 million
- Machinery, equipment, and transport: USD 253 million
In January 2026, customs duties on exported goods subject to export tariffs amounted to UAH 187.1 million.
