In April, compared to March, Ukraine reduced its electricity imports by 40% to 558.2 thousand MWh, while exports increased by 10% to 33 thousand MWh.

This was reported by the consulting company ExPro.

“Electricity imports to Ukraine in April 2026 decreased by 40% compared to the previous month, down to 558.2 thousand MWh. Supplies declined across all directions except Poland,” the statement said.

In particular, due to maintenance on a cross-border transmission line at the beginning of April, imports via the Slovak border were halted. The works are expected to continue until the end of May. Imports from Moldova decreased by 70% compared to March. Hungary accounted for the largest share of electricity imports — 55% of the total volume.

Electricity exports in April increased by 10% to 33 thousand MWh. In particular, supplies to Romania doubled.
