Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Gitanas Nausėda signed an agreement on cooperation in defense expertise and the defense industry under the Drone Deal format.
“During the meeting with President Gitanas Nausėda, our main focus was defense cooperation, and we agreed to work together within the Drone Deal framework through a bilateral agreement between our countries. The agreement is intended to strengthen both of our nations’ defense capabilities, and importantly, it is built on the principle of reciprocity: we support partners who provide real and tangible support for our defense,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that a Ukrainian military expert team will work in Lithuania to help develop the necessary security capabilities, primarily aimed at countering modern threats and strengthening the security of both countries and the wider region.
“We face common challenges, and we must overcome them together,” the Ukrainian president stressed.
Zelenskyy also thanked Nausėda for Lithuania’s clear support for Ukraine’s European integration.
“All six negotiation clusters for Ukraine need to be opened,” he said.

According to the Presidential Office, the agreement signed by the two leaders opens new opportunities for cooperation in defense production, technology transfer, and joint manufacturing projects between Ukrainian and Lithuanian companies.
Ukraine and Lithuania will expand cooperation in the defense-industrial and technological sectors, including air and missile defense systems and unmanned technologies.
The agreement also envisions the rapid localization of production in Lithuania of long-range strike drones, naval drones, interceptor drones, and bomber drones.
The leaders additionally discussed potential threats posed by Belarus.
