Ukraine is working with Germany to speed up the delivery of critically important air defense ammunition. The focus of support includes PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems, ammunition for IRIS-T, and the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism.

Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov held a conversation with German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius. The sides coordinated efforts ahead of the next Ramstein-format meeting.

The key topic of the conversation was support for the delivery of PAC-3 missiles through the JUMPSTART mechanism. Mykhailo Fedorov noted that Germany’s leadership is important for the rapid procurement of such munitions from partners.

The sides also discussed the possibility of directing already announced partner funds toward critical support areas. Ukraine is successfully advancing its defense strategy presented to partners. The Defense Forces are disrupting Russian logistics and carrying out deep strike attacks on targets that weaken the aggressor’s military potential.

Ukraine currently has a window of opportunity for the next 6–8 months. This is a period when the initiative is on the side of the Defense Forces and when there is an opportunity to bring a just peace closer — with Ukraine in a strong position.

That is why it is important to quickly channel support into areas that deliver the greatest effect:

  • missiles for Patriot systems via the JUMPSTART mechanism;
  • long-range ammunition through the Czech initiative;
  • PURL;
  • fiber-optic FPV drones and Ukrainian-made middle-strike drones.

The sides also discussed accelerating the delivery of ammunition for IRIS-T and the development of an anti-ballistic project.

They also focused on the prospects of scaling drone-assault units. Germany was the first to support this direction, which is already strengthening Ukrainian operations.

Mykhailo Fedorov thanked Germany for its high-quality assistance, leadership, and readiness to coordinate efforts among partners in support of Ukraine.
