Ukraine and Bulgaria will deepen cooperation in the development of unmanned technologies, counter-drone systems, and ammunition production for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Bulgarian Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov discussed the possibilities of joint drone production, as well as technological solutions to counter drones. Cooperation can take place both at the government level and between companies from both countries.
This includes implementing joint projects within the Brave1 defense innovation cluster and testing solutions in real war conditions in Ukraine. Ukraine has unique experience in building systems capable of intercepting large numbers of enemy drones and is ready to share this expertise through mutually beneficial partnerships.
Mykhailo Fedorov thanked the Bulgarian side for its support, including its contribution to the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program, which provides Ukraine with critically important air defense weaponry.
The parties also discussed potential cooperation within the European SAFE mechanism for defense industry projects.
Ukraine and Bulgaria agreed to develop cooperation in the production and supply of ammunition types critically needed by the Armed Forces.
The partnership will involve both strengthening production capabilities and expanding supply.
