Ukraine’s Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service, with support from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, has apprehended an agent working simultaneously for Russia’s FSB and the Belarusian Border Service intelligence.

According to case materials, the perpetrator was a service member of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

While serving as a UAV operator, he leaked information to the Russian forces about the movement, types, and numbers of Ukrainian drones engaged in battles along the northeastern border. Following orders from Russian intelligence, he transferred to operate ground robotic systems used for evacuating the wounded and delivering ammunition in the Izium direction.

Instead of performing his duties, he collected data on the location and operational plans of adjacent Ukrainian units and compiled technical specifications and operational details of the latest robotic systems of the Ukrainian forces for the Russian forces.

After completing his espionage tasks, the agent planned to flee to Russia via the front line, where Russian intelligence operatives were supposed to meet him.

SSU military counterintelligence preemptively documented his subversive activities. Following security measures to protect Ukrainian troops’ positions, the “mole” was detained in Kharkiv.

Two smartphones with evidence of his work for Russian and Belarusian intelligence were seized during searches.

The SSU has charged him under Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed during martial law).

The suspect remains in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
