The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained another FSB agent within the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The individual was a naval coast guard sailor of the State Border Guard Service, recruited by Russian forces to coordinate missile and drone strikes on Odesa.
According to the case materials, the suspect identified the combat positions of mobile fire units, radar stations, and anti-aircraft batteries defending the skies over the port city.
Using this intelligence, Russian forces aimed to plan a new series of air attacks on the regional center “bypassing” Ukraine’s air defense systems. Key targets included locations where Ukrainian troops engaged on the southern front were concentrated.

Investigators say the agent used a taxi to move around the city and its outskirts, covertly photographing military sites from the vehicle with a phone camera. The SSU caught the Russian “mole” in the act while photographing the facade of a military facility that Russian forces intended to strike with missiles.
The investigation revealed that the sailor had been recruited by the FSB while seeking “easy earnings” through Telegram channels. During a search, authorities seized a smartphone containing evidence of his work for Russian forces.
The SSU has charged the agent under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The suspect is in custody without the possibility of bail and faces a sentence of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
