Naftogaz Group, in partnership with the Lithuanian state-owned energy holding Ignitis Group, has arranged the supply of 90 million cubic meters of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine. The deliveries will be transported via Lithuania’s Klaipėda LNG terminal, with Naftogaz independently handling transportation to Ukraine, and will continue throughout February and March 2026.

“In the current conditions, with Russia targeting our energy infrastructure almost daily, it is crucial to diversify supply routes and ensure stable gas delivery to Ukrainian consumers,” said Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

Lithuanian Energy Minister Žygimantas Vaičiūnas highlighted the role of the Klaipėda terminal in bolstering energy security: “The terminal is one of the most actively used in Europe. By optimizing existing infrastructure, we can provide timely support to Ukraine and develop a long-term LNG supply corridor, the ‘Amber Gas Corridor.’”

The LNG shipments via Klaipėda complement existing supply routes, enhancing flexibility and reducing dependence on any single source.

Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz, noted:

“This step is part of our ongoing efforts to diversify gas supplies and work with European partners to maintain reliable energy access amid Russian attacks. It ensures stability for both the current and upcoming heating seasons.”

Darius Maikštėnas, CEO of Ignitis Group, added:

“This cooperation demonstrates how regional infrastructure and trusted partnerships can provide practical support in times of need. We are ready to support similar initiatives in the future.”

Naftogaz continues to collaborate with international partners to secure additional gas volumes, strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience and ensuring uninterrupted heating services for its population.
