Germany, the United Kingdom, and Moldova have officially announced their accession to the agreement on establishing a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. The announcement was made during an informal meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Kyiv.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha at a joint press conference in Kyiv with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
“The issue of holding Russian perpetrators accountable will never be removed from the agenda… Today we have concrete results, including new decisions to join the agreement on the Special Tribunal (for the crime of aggression against Ukraine). Three additional countries—Germany, the United Kingdom, and Moldova—have officially expressed their readiness. We thank our German, British, and Moldovan friends. We now have 13 member states of the Council of Europe and one country from outside Europe,” Sybiha said.
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine expects a significantly larger number of countries to join the agreement on establishing the Special Tribunal.
“We expect to hear additional announcements in the coming days, and we are actively working on this together,” the minister assured.
