Ukraine will not lose the war, but it is important not to slow down the pace of resistance to aggression and to make a new technological leap.
This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, during the 18th annual Kyiv Security Forum on the topic “Darkness or Dawn: Is There Light Ahead?”
“Will we win this competition, this war? We will definitely not lose. But I repeat: if we stop or reduce our pace, there are risks,” Budanov said.
At the same time, he added that, unfortunately, Russians are
“breaking their own records, and fortunately for us, we are breaking ours—in terms of the number and types of technologies being used.”
However, he stressed that this development is continuous, and if a certain technological leap is not made now, the effectiveness of these systems in achieving their objectives will decrease exponentially.
The lieutenant general also noted that both Ukraine and Russia are expanding their electronic warfare capabilities and air defense systems (including the emergence of drone interceptors).
“A new technological leap is needed—namely artificial intelligence technologies and new signal transmission and control technologies. Because with what exists now, I believe both we and the Russians have already reached our limit. Further growth is possible only in quantity, but that will not solve the issue,” the Head of the Office of the President said.
The Kyiv Security Forum is an annual international event founded in 2007 on the initiative of the Open Ukraine Foundation by Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
