Danish-Ukrainian startup Dropla Tech ApS has raised €2.4 million in pre-seed funding from Maj Invest Holding, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), and Final Frontier. The investment will accelerate the company’s rollout of AI-driven edge computing solutions for explosive threat detection and force protection across Ukrainian and European operations.

Dropla’s technology addresses a critical NATO requirement: offline, sovereign threat detection that operates independently of cloud infrastructure, even in contested electromagnetic environments. Its proprietary edge AI platform, Blue Eyes, enables real-time detection of landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXOs), improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and ambush drones with sub-15cm accuracy, keeping sensitive battlefield intelligence under direct command control.

“Dropla delivers immediate, life-saving capabilities in active conflict zones by reducing the risk of casualties from explosive threats and ambush drones in the FEBA zone,” said V’yacheslav Shvaidak, PhD, Co-founder and CEO of Dropla Tech.

The company has built Europe’s most extensive landmine detection dataset, developed over two years of testing in Ukraine. Its testing facility features over 170 confirmed explosive targets, providing operational validation far beyond laboratory conditions.

Dropla has received strategic support from both Danish and Ukrainian defense authorities. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has supplied operational requirements to ensure the platform directly addresses battlefield needs, while Danish backing reflects a commitment to European defense sovereignty.

Jeppe Christiansen, CEO of Maj Invest, emphasized, “This investment reflects our dedication to strengthening the Danish and European defense sector.” EIFO Investment Manager Louise Flyger added, “Dropla combines technical excellence with critical geopolitical relevance, supporting both defense and humanitarian objectives.”

The startup’s dual-use platform not only enhances military capabilities but also supports humanitarian demining and post-conflict recovery operations. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Odense with R&D in Ukraine, Dropla Tech is positioned to advance both European technological sovereignty and global demining efforts.
