On the night of September 8 (starting from 10:00 p.m. on September 7), the Russian forces launched an attack using 142 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Herbera, and other types from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (occupied Crimea). More than 100 of these were Shaheds.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 112 UAVs — including Shaheds, Herberas, and drones of other types — over the north, south, east, and center of the country.

Twenty-six strike drones hit seven locations, and debris from downed UAVs fell at one additional site.
