Russian forces carried out widespread attacks across several Ukrainian regions over the past 24 hours, targeting more than 40 settlements in Kherson region alone and leaving civilians injured and infrastructure damaged, according to regional officials.

In Kherson region, local authorities reported strikes on dozens of towns and villages, including Berislav, Antonivka, Chornobaivka, and Tyahynka.

“Four people were injured as a result of Russian aggression,” said regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Residential areas and critical infrastructure came under fire, with damage reported to high-rise buildings, private homes, vehicles, and utility structures.

In Sumy region, officials said nearly 60 attacks were recorded across 24 settlements in 14 communities. Despite the intensity of the strikes, “there were no casualties among civilians,” the regional administration stated. Russian forces used artillery, mortars, guided aerial bombs, and drones, causing damage to residential buildings, shops, and social infrastructure in several communities.

Kharkiv region also came under heavy fire, with attacks reported in 25 settlements as well as the city of Kharkiv.

“Seven people were injured as a result of the shelling,” said regional governor Oleh Syniehubov.

The strikes involved missiles, FPV drones, and multiple types of UAVs, damaging homes, industrial facilities, farms, power lines, and public buildings.

Separately, in Chernihiv region, authorities reported a large-scale power outage after a Russian strike on an energy facility in the Nizhyn district early on April 18. “About 380,000 consumers were left without electricity,” the regional power operator said, adding that restoration work is ongoing across several districts and cities.

Officials say repair and emergency response teams are continuing work in all affected regions as assessments of the full scale of damage continue.

In Donetsk region, the city of Kramatorsk was hit overnight, leaving two people injured and damaging residential buildings. Emergency services provided first aid to a wounded man and evacuated three residents from blocked apartments by forcing entry into a damaged multi-storey building.

In Zaporizhzhia, a combined Russian strike injured a 40-year-old woman, with authorities warning the number of victims may still rise. Fires broke out in residential buildings, a garage, and several locations where dry grass ignited.
