Units of Ukraine's Defence Forces on May 28 and during the night of May 29 struck a number of important targets belonging to the Russian forces, including the Volgograd Oil Refinery in the Russian city of Volgograd and the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station (Yaroslavl Region, Russia), as well as an anti-aircraft missile system, a warehouse, and Russian UAV command posts on temporarily occupied territories.
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a fire was recorded on the territory of the Volgograd refinery.
"The primary oil processing units AVT-1, AVT-3, AVT-5, and AVT-6, as well as secondary oil processing units, were struck. The plant has halted its production processes. The extent of the damage is being determined," the statement reads.
A hit on the target and a fire were recorded at the Yaroslavl-3 pumping station.
"Confirmed burning of two oil storage tanks with capacities of 50,000 cubic metres and 20,000 cubic metres. The extent of the damage is being determined. The Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station is a hub station of the Surgut–Polotsk pipeline, through which oil from Siberia and northern Russia flows to the Baltic ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga and to Belarus. It is part of the structure of the Russian state company Transneft," the General Staff reported.
On occupied territories, the following Russian assets were struck: a Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system in the area of the village of Berdyanske, Zaporizhzhia Region; a Russian command and observation post near the village of Lyman Pershyi, Kharkiv Region; a Russian materiel and supply depot in the village of Aidar, Luhansk Region; and Russian UAV command posts in the areas of the village of Tyotkino, Kursk Region (Russia), the village of Komar, Donetsk Region, and Nesteryanka, Zaporizhzhia Region.
In addition, Ukrainian forces struck Russian troop concentration areas in the vicinity of Novopetrivka and Novohryhorivka in Zaporizhzhia Region, Rodynske in Donetsk Region, Kleveni in Kursk Region (Russia), Sichnevе in Dnipropetrovsk Region, and Basivka in Sumy Region.
