Units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of key Russian military-related facilities during the night of May 23, including the Sheskharis oil terminal, the Grushovaya oil depot, and a tanker belonging to the Russian Federation’s shadow fleet.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

“In particular, the Sheskharis oil terminal (Novorossiysk, Krasnodar region, Russia) was hit — impacts and a fire on the terminal’s territory were confirmed,” the statement said.

According to the General Staff, Sheskharis is one of Russia’s largest oil terminals on the Black Sea and is part of the Transneft system. Its throughput capacity reaches up to 75 million tons of oil per year, while its storage tank capacity is about 1.28 million cubic meters. The facility handles oil and petroleum product exports and is involved in supporting the needs of the Russian army.

In the Novorossiysk area, the Grushovaya transshipment oil depot was also hit, with a fire recorded on the facility’s territory.

“The Grushovaya oil depot is a key component of the Sheskharis complex and one of the largest storage facilities in southern Russia. Its total storage capacity reaches approximately 1.2–1.4 million cubic meters. The facility is used for the storage, transshipment, and transportation of oil and petroleum products, including for the military logistics of the aggressor state,” the General Staff noted.

In addition, the basing area of ships belonging to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” in the Black Sea was struck.

“A hit on the tanker CHRYSALIS has been confirmed,” the General Staff emphasized.

Ukrainian forces also struck Russian communications hubs in Krasnorichenske in the Luhansk region and Smyle in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as a logistics warehouse in Frolivske, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Donetsk region, a Russian ammunition depot in Prechystivka was hit.
