The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense participated in a demonstration of cutting-edge humanitarian demining technologies hosted at a State Emergency Service (SES) facility. The event also featured representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Among the Ukrainian innovations was a drone equipped with ground-penetrating radar and artificial intelligence, capable of analyzing terrain data and detecting threats from the air.

Japan presented its own advanced tools, including mechanized demining machines and the ALIS geosensor mine detector, which can identify even non-metallic mines. The ALIS device was personally introduced by its inventor, Professor Motoyuki Sato. Organizers emphasized their joint goal of integrating modern technologies into Ukraine’s humanitarian demining system.

Colonel Olha Drobot, representing the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, invited participants to visit the UTTC Training and Education Center, noting that the facility is dedicated to testing such technologies and preparing personnel to operate them effectively.

Representatives of Ukraine’s defense and security forces expressed gratitude to international partners for their trust, support, and active contributions toward building a safer future.
