The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed that Ukrainian forces carried out strikes on an oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia, according to a post on their official Facebook page.

On the night of February 11, the Volgograd Oil Refinery, which supplies the Russian military, was hit. A fire broke out at the facility, though the full extent of the damage is still being assessed. Volgograd Governor Andriy Bocharov reported that Russian air defense units had repelled some drone attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure during the night.

The targeted refinery, Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka, is located in the Krasnoarmeysky district and is the largest in the Volgograd region. It is a key asset for Lukoil, specializing in deep oil processing and producing gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and other petroleum products. The plant has previously been the target of drone attacks.

In addition to the strike on Volgograd, Ukrainian forces carried out multiple operations in occupied territories:

  • Near Lobanove in Crimea, a fuel and lubricant storage facility was struck.
  • In the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, near Balochky, a Russian logistics and supply depot was targeted.
  • Near Liubymivka, a concentration of Russian military equipment was hit.
  • In the Huliaipole area, personnel of a unit within the “Rubikon” center were targeted.
  • Near Tretiaky in occupied Donetsk region, a Russian Osa surface-to-air missile system was struck.
  • In occupied Kherson region, near Voskresenske, a Russian Tor surface-to-air missile system was destroyed.

Casualties and the full extent of the damage from these strikes are still being determined.
