Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky began his visit to Munich with a meeting with the leadership and staff of the first joint Ukrainian-German enterprise, Quantum Frontline Industries, which produces drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, also participated in the meeting.
The President was shown the production lines and witnessed the testing of the first strike drone manufactured at the facility. The drone technology is Ukrainian, equipped with artificial intelligence, and has already proven effective on the front lines. Company leadership outlined the production capabilities and potential, as well as plans for further scaling. This year, Ukraine is expected to receive the first ten thousand drones produced at this enterprise.
Quantum Frontline Industries became the first serial production facility for Ukrainian unmanned systems in Europe. It is being implemented within the framework of German-Ukrainian government cooperation under the Build with Ukraine initiative and is funded by a special German governmental unit.
Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the German government, and personally to Boris Pistorius, as well as to German society at large for supporting Ukraine.
“We are very proud that Ukraine has such talented people, and we are very proud to have such close ties with strong German partners. It is wonderful that we have the first major joint production facility in Europe – truly the first of its kind. I believe we have achieved an excellent result,” said the President.

By the end of this year, Ukraine plans to open ten such drone production facilities across Europe.
In the presence of the Head of State, a series of agreements were also signed. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius signed an agreement between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany on integrating Ukrainian instructors into German Army schools and combat training centers. Additionally, three memorandums were signed on establishing joint enterprises and a Memorandum of Understanding between Ukrainian Defense Industry and SAAB.
