During the summit of the International Transport Forum, three countries announced their readiness to contribute to the Ukraine Transport Support Fund.

This was reported on Telegram by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.

“Today we are working in Leipzig at the summit of the International Transport Forum — one of the key platforms for discussing the future of transport and logistics systems worldwide. I took part in a high-level roundtable dedicated to supporting Ukraine’s transport system during the war and launching the Ukraine Transport Support Fund,” the statement said.

The deputy prime minister informed summit participants about the number of attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion. In particular, he spoke about more than 5,100 strikes on Ukrzaliznytsia, which damaged or destroyed more than 26,000 facilities. More than 900 port infrastructure facilities and 177 civilian vessels were also damaged.

The discussions also focused on launching a mechanism for the practical restoration of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure — the Support Fund. The Ukrainian side thanked Sweden, Canada, Lithuania, and the leadership of the International Transport Forum for their leadership on this issue.

According to Kuleba, Sweden, Germany, and Norway announced that they are ready to make contributions. The next stage will be the launch of the first reconstruction projects.
