Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine has detained another Russian agent in Donetsk region. The suspect was directing missile, air, and drone strikes by Russian forces on Sloviansk and surrounding areas.

According to the investigation, the informant turned out to be a local unemployed woman recruited by the Russian forces. To bring her into cooperation, Russian intelligence services used her son — a member of armed units of Russia’s Southern Military District who is fighting on the eastern front.

Using her son as a “link,” Russian forces instructed the agent to identify temporary positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the frontline city and its surroundings.

In the event of receiving such coordinates, the Russian forces planned to carry out targeted strikes using kamikaze drones, heavy guided aerial bombs, and missile weapons.

To collect intelligence, the suspect covertly gathered “news” about Ukrainian defenders from acquaintances during everyday conversations.

Later, she established an additional communication channel through a former resident of Sloviansk who moved to Russia and administers a Telegram channel used by Russian forces to collect information about Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Through this channel, the agent sent voice messages disclosing the locations and movement routes of Ukrainian troops on the Kramatorsk axis.

The SSU exposed and documented her activities step by step. After securing Ukrainian positions, officers detained the agent.

During searches, a smartphone used to store intelligence data and communicate with Russian handlers was seized. She is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation continues to identify and prosecute all members of the Russian intelligence network.
