Russian forces launched a large-scale wave of attacks across multiple Ukrainian regions over the past 24 hours, targeting energy infrastructure, residential areas, and critical facilities, leaving civilians dead and injured while disrupting electricity supply in several areas.

In the Chernihiv region, a pre-dawn strike hit an energy facility in the Nizhyn district, cutting off electricity to most of the region. Regional governor Viacheslav Chaus said emergency crews had begun restoration work, while critical and social infrastructure facilities switched to backup power sources to maintain operations.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, one of the heaviest attacks was recorded, with 941 strikes hitting 41 settlements. Four people were injured in Zaporizhzhia city and the surrounding district. According to regional authorities, Russian forces carried out 21 airstrikes, launched 624 drones—mostly FPV types—fired multiple rocket systems, and conducted nearly 300 artillery strikes. The attacks caused widespread destruction to homes, non-residential buildings, infrastructure, and vehicles, with at least 47 reports of damage recorded.

In the Kherson region, Russian attacks killed one person and injured three others. The regional capital and more than 20 settlements came under drone strikes, air attacks, and artillery fire. Residential neighborhoods, administrative buildings, and a gas pipeline were damaged. Authorities also evacuated seven civilians from recently liberated communities amid continued shelling.

In the Mykolaiv region, Russian drones targeted energy infrastructure overnight, leaving parts of the Mykolaiv district temporarily without electricity. Regional governor Vitalii Kim said power was restored by morning, and no casualties were reported.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces carried out more than ten attacks on the Nikopol and Synelnykove districts using drones and artillery. Fires broke out in affected areas, and a fire station was damaged. Despite the intensity of the attacks, no casualties were reported. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 11 drones overnight, according to officials.

In the Donetsk region, the heaviest civilian toll was reported. Five people were killed and 14 others injured in Russian attacks on March 20. Regional governor Vadym Filashkin said three civilians were killed in Drobysheve and two in Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka. The total number of civilian casualties in the region has now reached 4,097 killed and 9,058 injured, excluding the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha.
