As a result of a strike by a Russian Iskander ballistic missile on a warehouse belonging to the UN World Food Programme in Dnipro, food supplies worth $1.4 million intended to support people living in frontline areas were destroyed.

This was reported by the United Nations.

The World Food Programme stated that the warehouse in Dnipro was used for the organization’s humanitarian operations. On May 25, it “was subjected to a deliberate strike by a high-precision Iskander ballistic missile.”

As a result, a significant quantity of food intended to support people living near the front line was destroyed.

At the time of the attack, the facility stored humanitarian food assistance sufficient to support 130,000 people. Its estimated value was $1.4 million.

“This warehouse has now been hit for the second time. In November 2025, it was damaged in a drone attack. Over the past 18 months, WFP has recorded more than 84 incidents affecting its warehouses, vehicles, aid distribution points, and the property of local humanitarian partners across Ukraine,” said Richard Ragan.

“Despite growing security risks, WFP continues to provide critical food and cash assistance every month to nearly 600,000 people in frontline regions of Ukraine,” the statement said.

The World Food Programme once again stressed that international humanitarian law prohibits attacks on civilian and humanitarian infrastructure. Such incidents pose a direct threat to the delivery of life-saving assistance to civilians affected by the war.
