In the city of Galați in eastern Romania, near the border with Ukraine, a drone struck a multi-storey residential building, leaving two people injured.
As reported by the British media outlet GB News, the incident injured a 14-year-old boy and a woman who is in serious condition.
It is noted that the woman sustained first-degree burns, while the boy reportedly suffered a panic attack. An alert was issued via the Ro-Alert emergency notification system at around 1:53 a.m. Following the drone strike, approximately 70 residents were evacuated from the building.

Explosive ordnance disposal experts are working on-site to establish the circumstances of the incident. Specialists suggest that the drone's entire payload may have detonated on impact, which is why no further evacuation was ordered.
The Galați Police stated: "The drone struck an apartment building; the impact was accompanied by an explosion and a fire in an apartment on the 10th floor. Law enforcement officers are working on-site to limit the consequences of the incident and ensure the safety of the area, with the support of other Interior Ministry forces and specialized teams from the Intelligence Service."

In response to the incident, several NATO fighter jets were scrambled over the Galați area.
Romania's Ministry of National Defence has confirmed that the drone that struck an apartment building in the centre of the city of Galați was Russian. This was announced on the Ministry's website.
It is noted that on the night of May 29, the Russian Federation resumed drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine near the Romanian border.
"A drone entered Romanian airspace, was tracked by radar systems as far as the Southern area of Galați municipality, and crashed onto the roof of a residential apartment building, the impact causing a fire," the statement reads.
Specialised teams from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Intelligence Service, and the Romanian Police are working at the scene.
