As of the morning of February 2, new Russian attacks have left consumers without power in four regions, while severe weather has caused outages in 162 settlements across three regions, the National Energy Company Ukrenergo reported on Facebook.

“As a result of Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure, consumers are without electricity in Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions. Wherever the security situation currently allows, emergency restoration work is underway. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible,” the statement reads.

It was noted that electricity consumption as of 09:30 on Monday exceeded the level of the previous working day (January 30) by 7.5%. This increase is due to a sharp drop in temperatures across Ukraine and a lower volume of applied restrictions in certain regions.

Due to the difficult situation in the energy system caused by Russian attacks, emergency power outages are currently being implemented in some regions. In other regions, industrial power restrictions and hourly power outage schedules for households remain in effect.

Because of severe weather conditions (ice and freezing of power lines), 162 settlements in Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions were fully or partially without electricity as of the morning.

“In all regions of Ukraine today, energy-saving measures remain necessary. Please minimize the use of high-power electrical appliances. If possible, shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours — after 23:00,” Ukrenergo added.
