Russia attacked with 29 missiles and 480 drones

On the night of March 7 (starting from 18:00 on March 6), Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using attack UAVs, as well as land- and sea-based missiles. In total, the Air Force’s radio-technical troops detected 509 aerial attack assets.

These included:

  • 2 Zircon hypersonic missiles (launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea);
  • 13 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launch areas: Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh regions of Russia);
  • 14 Kalibr cruise missiles (launched from the Black Sea);
  • 480 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as Hvardiiske and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea. About 290 of them were Shahed drones.

The main targets of the attack were Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.


According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 472 targets — 19 missiles and 453 drones of various types, including:

  • 8 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
  • 11 Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 453 Russian UAVs of various types.

Hits by 9 missiles and 26 attack UAVs were recorded at 22 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at five locations.
