More than two hundred Ukrainian experts are currently in five countries of the Persian Gulf region to assist partners, and their deployment does not currently have strict time limits, said David Aloyd, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine. He shared this information with media representatives at a briefing on Wednesday.
“Over 200 experts are in five countries. Their work spans various domains and sectors. They are already showing results in defense and countering ‘Shaheds’ and other drones,” Aloyd said.
According to him, the duration of Ukrainian experts’ stay in the Gulf countries is not limited to specific terms.
“I cannot comment on exactly how long they will remain there — we will see. They are working there, and so far I haven’t heard of any restrictions or timeframes. We consider this cooperation long-term, and it will scale up: not only in the directions currently underway but also by including other domains,” Aloyd stated.
However, due to the sensitive nature of the information, the NSDC deputy secretary said he could not provide specifics on the number of drones shot down. He emphasized that Ukraine’s partners are “very satisfied with the results.”
On March 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the deployment of 201 military specialists to Middle Eastern countries to assist in countering drone attacks.
On March 20, the President stated that, as of now, 228 Ukrainian experts are operating in Middle Eastern countries.
