The Head of the Office of the President and member of the Ukrainian negotiation delegation, Kyrylo Budanov, expressed confidence in the peace talks despite skepticism.
He spoke about this in an interview on a telemarathon broadcast.
“Peace negotiations are currently underway in parallel with ongoing military operations. I still believe in them, no matter how skeptically many may view the process. I hope we will succeed, because that will also be our victory,” Budanov said. He added that a successful outcome would mean sustainable development for Ukraine, “an end to the bloodshed, a future for all of us, for our state.”
According to the Head of the Office, no country at war in the world or in history has developed, because
“war is always a downward movement. The entire economy, the full strength of the state, is directed at one thing — survival. Or at destroying the one you are at war with, but that too is a matter of survival,” Budanov explained.
Regarding deadlines for the negotiation process, he said:
“I view it differently. There is a clear calendar schedule for us. It exists, conditionally, and of course, everything can fluctuate depending on how events develop. But in principle, it exists.”
